The publication highlights the role of the BonaRes repository in promoting FAIR data practices and data reuse in agricultural soil research:
- Presentation of the repository’s infrastructures and services, including specialized tools for quality assurance and management of soil profiles and long-term field trial data.
- Presentation of an overview of data reuse (62 cases so far) and highlighting their scientific contributions to the understanding of soil and agricultural systems.
- Discussion of current challenges in the implementation of FAIR and the open publication and reusability of soil data.
- An overview of other research data infrastructures in this area, including the embedding of the BonaRes repository in FAIRagro.
