The “Landscape 2024” conference is taking place at the Erwin Schrödinger Center at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 17 to 19 September. International experts are coming together to discuss research into the transformation of agricultural landscapes under the title “Agroecosystems in Transition: Visions, Technologies and Actors”. The aim is to develop a clear vision, innovative technologies and actors to drive sustainable change in agricultural landscapes.
FAIRagro is on site as well – with an information stand to inform conference participants about the latest developments of our consortium and to learn more about the wishes and needs of researchers.
On the previous day, there were five three-hour interactive hands-on masterclasses for all interested parties, one of which was organized by ZALF and FAIRagro: “Brick by brick – Building rich metadata for data publications using LEGO®”. The importance of comprehensibly described metadata was demonstrated using an astonishing example: the construction of agricultural machinery from bricks with and without instructions.
The subsequent discussions clearly showed that the path from a game with LEGO® bricks to FAIR data in agricultural systems research is not so far away.
