In FAIRagro Use Case 3, solutions are being developed to better standardize and integrate data on pests, diseases, and their effects on yield: To what extent do pests and diseases reduce yield? And how can results from different yield-loss experiments be compared in a way that makes them usable for research, modeling, and decision-support systems? These questions are central to a sustainable approach to integrated pest management.
Our co-applicant Julius Kühn Institut is currently offering two master’s theses in this exciting field:
In the first, you will develop guidelines for standardizing yield loss trials, thereby laying an important foundation for improved data quality in integrated pest management. Please find the relevant documents here.
The other master’s thesis focuses on creating a structured inventory of IPM-related data available in Germany. In doing so, you will make an important contribution to the better use of existing data resources and the further development of sustainable plant protection strategies. Interested? We look forward to receiving your applications!
