From October 8 to 9, 2025, all TA 4 measures and colleagues involved in Use Case 5 met for a retreat focusing on the integration and engineering of TA4 services at the FAIRagro Co-Applicant Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The retreat at the Institute for Biological and Geosciences, IBG-4, focused primarily on discussing the integration of TA4 services and aspects of going live. In an open and productive environment and over dinner together, there was also plenty of opportunity for professional and informal exchanges between the participants.
In particular, the topics of integrative user authentication and rights management for FAIRagro services and data repositories, the production launch of FAIRagro NextCloud for joint editing and sharing of documents, and the possible mapping of a joint TA4 success story across all services via the FZJ’s FAIRagro Use Case 5 and the data set search were discussed. Concrete results included the roadmap for migrating Google Drive documents to Nextcloud, the mapping of variants for implementing trust relationships between FAIRagro data repositories and the FAIRagro Keykloak service for comprehensive user authentication, and the outline of a demonstrator for presenting integrated information retrieval for a meta-study using the Search Hub.
