Joint workshop FAIRagro / NFDI4Bioimage at Kassel

On November 26, FAIRagro employees visited the University of Kassel to join forces with their colleagues from NFDI4Bioimage in delivering a training workshop on “Image Data Management in the Biological Sciences and Agricultural Research,” primarily aimed at PhD students and postdocs.

Following a joint introduction by representatives of both consortia, participants had the choice between two focus areas: microscopy and agriculture. The topics offered by FAIRagro were “Observation data: From ground to cloud” and “Image data management in the biological sciences,” while NFDI4Bioimage offered “Agricultural image data management.” After a joint introduction by representatives of both consortia, participants had the choice between two main topics: microscopy and agriculture. The topics offered by FAIRagro were “Observation data: From ground robots to UAVs” and “Satellite and grid data: The view from above,” which were followed and discussed intensively. Paul Peschel (on the right) is a data steward at FAIRagro’s DSSC and is delighted: “This successful day in Kassel has once again shown that cross-consortium collaboration is not only enriching for us in many ways, but can also be implemented in a way that benefits the community.”
