Big events cast their shadows – on April 15 and 16, representatives of the six NFDI consortia FAIRagro, DataPLANT, NFDI4Bioimage, NFDI4Biodiversity, NFDI4Objects, and NFDI4Microbiota met in Berlin at the Julius Kühn Institute to advance the plans and prospects for the newly launched Biodata Interest Group. The focus is on synergies between the numerous services within the consortia, joint training concepts, a dedicated roadmap, defining and harmonizing common data types and data modalities in the life sciences—and, of course, continuing preparations for the planned BBB “Boosting Biodata Bootcamp” from September 15–17, 2026, in Aachen.
