Data Management Plans (DMPs) have become an essential component of many research projects and funding applications. In agroecosystem research, research data management often involves discipline-specific requirements regarding documentation, interoperability, reuse, and standardization of data.
This interactive online workshop introduces participants to the creation of Data Management Plans for agricultural and agroecosystem research projects using the DMP-tool Research Data Management Organizer (RDMO). The workshop focuses on the FAIRagro-developed, discipline-specific DMP template.
The workshop combines thematic introductions with several hands-on sessions structured along the sections of the template. Key components of a DMP — including data types, data documentation, metadata, data publication, and legal aspects — will first be introduced conceptually and then applied directly in RDMO during practical exercises.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own research projects and will have the opportunity to work on their own DMPs throughout the workshop. The interactive format provides ample room for discussion, questions, and exchange between participants and trainers.
