What is available, what is needed – and how do we get an overview?

Workshop description

As part of the international DigAgro 2025 conference (December 1 – 2, 2025 in Tulln an der Donau, Austria), FAIRagro invites you to an interactive workshop on digital field book apps, management systems for field experiments and practical tools for data collection in agrosystems research.

DigAgro 2025 is a new platform that brings together international experts from research, practice and technology development to discuss digital innovations in agroecology and plant production. The focus is on smart technologies, digital methods for phenotyping, modeling of microbial systems and the integration of multi-omics data. FAIRagro is actively involved in shaping the conference and is offering a practical workshop on digital research data management in agricultural research.

Aim of the workshop

Numerous digital tools are now available for planning and conducting field experiments, collecting data in the field or managing agricultural research and practice. But what specific solutions are there? Which functions are particularly appreciated by researchers and practitioners? And how do you find the right tool for your own requirements?

In order to provide support with these questions, FAIRagro is bringing together users and providers of such digital applications in this workshop – from scientific institutions to agricultural practice. The aim is to facilitate a structured exchange, jointly identify needs and jointly develop recommendations for the use of suitable tools and best practices (“good practices”). In addition, we would like to work out where FAIRagro can provide targeted support – for example through structured information offers, training materials or assistance in the selection and use of digital field book solutions.

Who should participate?

Scientists from agrosystems research, developers of digital tools, agricultural practitioners, data managers – and anyone interested in structured, comprehensible and future-proof data collection in the context of sustainable agriculture.

Join us at DigAgro 2025 – a conference that is actively shaping the digital transformation of agriculture – and help us shape the future of digital research data in agrosystems research!
